Learn a lesson from the Apostle Peter. Peter was a fisherman by trade. According to Luke 5:4-5 Peter and his men had been fishing all night and had caught nothing.. But now, he was about to experience a life-altering change in his circumstances. He had loaned his boat to Jesus to use as a platform to teach the people. When Jesus had finished, He instructed Peter ...launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a draft. Despite the fact that he had been out in the deep all night and caught nothing, look at Peter's response "... nevertheless at thy word, I will let down the net. Peter took Jesus at His word, obeyed Him, and did something he otherwise would never have done. He went back out to sea after being at sea all night. And because he cooperated with Jesus, he reaped some extraordinary results.
Luke 5:6-7 And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake. And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink. This was no ordinary turn of events that Peter experienced. This was the blessing of the Lord, and the Bible calls it astonishing.
Jesus was not looking at the circumstances. His focus was entirely different from Peter's. Peter was looking at his lack - no fish. Jesus was looking at His plan to sink their boat with more fish than they could handle!
I tell you, God is El Shaddai, the God who is more than enough! And the same more-than-enough God who caused Peter and his men to take in so many fish that their nets broke is the same God who will put you over – way over – in every circumstance of life. Lay hold of God’s astonishing provision for yourself. Do what Jesus is telling you, now! And remember, friend, we’re standing with you and believing God for His very best in every area of your life – and that includes your complete prosperity.
