Matters Of The Heart - Humility

Hello Everyone,

Have you ever wondered why some Bible subjects are popular and why some like Humility are not?  Read on and you'll see those "unpopular" subjects in a different light.  Click the "Send To A Friend" box on the left and share these thoughts with someone who has an open ear.

At some point in his life, every Christian has thought about what it would be like to really walk the way Jesus did.  Many have tried with all their effort to live such a life and, unless they discovered one powerful truth, they always fell short.  That truth is a simple one:  only Jesus could live that life.  But the good news is He wants to live it through the believer.  And the way He has made that possible is through humility.  Romans 13:14 Weymouth says On the contrary, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for gratifying your earthly cravings.

As Charles Wesley has said Herein is contained the whole of our salvation.  It is a strong and beautiful expression for the most intimate union with him, and being clothed with all the graces which were in him.  That intimate union comes only if we have the humility to receive it.

Listen to the Apostle in Matthew 23:12 And whoever shall exalt himself shall be abased, and he who shall humble himself shall be exalted.  And again in James 4:6 But He gives more grace.  Therefore He says, God resists the proud, but He gives grace to the humble.

Galatians 2:20 NLT shows us how we obtain the type of humility that opens the door for perfect communion with Christ My old self has been crucified with Christ.  It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.  So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

If you are one who wants to walk as Jesus did, say with me I count myself crucified with Jesus and live now in my earthly body by trusting Him to reveal Himself to me and live His life through me.  I do not frustrate His grace by trying to live His life on my own.  And remember, friend, we're standing with you and believing God for His very best in every area of your life - and that includes your complete prosperity.

Until next week,

2 Peter 1:2   May God’s grace and peace be multiplied
to you through the knowledge of Jesus Christ.
