1 Corinthians 15:34 says, "Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame." Romans 8:13 says, "For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live." Real life begins when we yield to God's chastening and find out what it means to move in the power and authority of the Spirit. "Chastening" in Hebrews 12:11 refers to disciplinary attitudes and actions that lead to one's betterment in life or to one's education. Jesus said He came that we might have life and have it more abundantly, and God is going to make sure He does whatever is necessary to correct us when we go astray so that we don't lose out on the abundant life that Jesus promised. 2 Timothy 3:16 Amp says, Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness (in holy living, in conformity to God's will in thought, purpose, and action.) The Father corrects us through His Word and never by sending bad things into our lives. His correction is intended to keep us in a place where The Blessing can keep flowing into and through our lives. It's only as we live in righteousness that we are able to explore God's good plan and purpose for us. And remember, friend, we're standing with you and believing God for His very best in every area of your life - and that includes your complete prosperity.
