A comment we often hear is "I know God is able to heal, the question is will He heal? At the root of that comment is wavering faith. The person making it is uncertain whether God will do what He promises about healing. James 1:7-8 says For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
In sending His disciples forth to proclaim the gospel, Jesus promised in Mark 16:18 they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. So, how do you gain the stability of faith that allows you to minister healing on the consistent basis Jesus promised? The answer is simple: practice!
First, you have to practice the Word. Romans 10:17 tells us So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. You repeat aloud they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover over and over, until one day you suddenly have a revelation of the truth of that scripture. Your understanding goes from a mental assent that believers will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover to a spiritual certainty that when you lay hands on the sick, recovery will follow.
Second, you simply and consistently lay hands on the sick. When they recover and how fast they recover is not your problem. It is God's promise and His responsibility to heal. You are simply the instrument He uses to do so. As you practice the Word and practice the laying on of hands, something interesting will begin to happen more and more frequently: the sick will recover, just as God promised. And healing is not the only place where practice brings results. Just remember, friend, we’re standing with you and believing God for His very best in every area of your life – and that includes your complete prosperity.
