Matters Of The Heart – The Peace Of God

Hello Everyone,

With all the turmoil in the world today, most people are looking for a quiet place where they can escape the daily pressures of their lives.  Click the "Send To A Friend" box on the left or Subscribe Box (Click Here) and share these thoughts with someone who needs to know about

Philippians 4:6-7 GWT are amazing verses.  They instruct us first, to do what for many seems almost impossible: Never worry about anything.  Then they tell us how to do it:  But in every situation let God know what you need in prayers and requests while giving thanks.  And finally they give us an incredible promise: Then God's peace, which goes beyond anything we can imagine, will guard your thoughts and emotions through Christ Jesus.

When everything seems to be falling apart, we're not to waste one minute worrying about what to do, but are immediately to tell God specifically what we need and to thank Him that His complete provision for that need is on its way.  When we do that, God promises that His peace will guard our thoughts and emotions from the attacks of the enemy, who only wants to make us frantic and blind us to the things God has planned for us.

God's peace is a lot more than just a comfortable feeling and the lifting of pressure.  The word for peace in Hebrew is "shalom." and includes peace, prosperity, health, completeness, soundness, safety and protection.  It's a dynamic powerful word that means, as bad as things may look, there is no situation or circumstance that God's peace cannot cover.  What He did for Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the fiery furnace, He will certainly do for you, His blood bought child.

But the dynamic power of the word goes beyond just you.  It is meant to radiate out from you and impact the lives of others.  Listen to Romans 15:13  May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.  The reason for that trust is the assurance in Psalm 16:11 You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.  Be filled with the joy of His presence and peace, never worry about anything, and stand ready to share the overflow with others.  And remember, friend, we're standing with you and believing God for His very best in every area of your life - and that includes your complete prosperity.

Until next week,

2 Peter 1:2  May God’s grace and peace be multiplied
to you through the knowledge of Jesus Christ.
