It's important for us to understand that as much as we need to develop and train our mind or intellect, we also need to train our spirit. 1 Corinthians 2:14 says But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. Man's spirit is trained and developed through study, the study and meditation of God's Word, the Bible. 2 Timothy 2:15 says Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth and the life.. To rightly divide the word of truth, one must see Jesus. That is why He said in John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. Searching for Jesus everywhere in God's Word will help train your spirit to respond immediately with the Word to every circumstance that arises. In every circumstance you'll ask yourself "What does the Word say?" The Word can be applied to every area of your existence. If you can find a promise in the Bible, it belongs to you. God wants you to experience the fullness of all of His promises. But if you don't have the truth of God's Word in your heart, when lack comes, you will be dominated in your thinking by your senses - by what you can see, hear, taste, touch and smell. Just remember that sense knowledge is limited. It is not the highest form of reality that exists. Jesus is! If you don't see Him, the higher authority of God's truth can't gain the dominance, because your human spirit remains untrained in the Word. Suppose sickness tried to attack your body. You know that in the presence of Jesus that sickness would be dealt with. The higher authority of God's Word says that by Jesus' stripes you were healed (1 Peter 2:24.) Away from that presence you don't have the same assurance. Assurance of His provision is something God has always intended for His people. And that assurance is found only in Jesus. So remember, friend, we’re standing with you and believing God for His very best in every area of your life – and that includes your complete prosperity.
