Keys to winning Every Race

Hello Everyone,

This is Pastor Rick with week 7 of Power Moments In The Word.  Today, we'll be dealing with something we all have opportunities to overcome:  being offended.  Look with me now at what the Bible says about Dealing With Offence

Galatians 2:20 NLT says My old self has been crucified with Christ.  It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.  So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.  Your old self was always ready to be offended by the words and actions of others.  Only the new life within you, the life of Jesus Himself, is in position to truly deal with offense.

The definition of the word offense is a hindrance or a stumbling block.  When it comes to offense you now have a choice to make.  You can resurrect your old nature and be offended, or you can choose not to be offended and walk in the God kind of love.  Jesus always walked in love, and He still does, if you will let Him.  Psalm 119:165 says Great peace have they which love your law: and nothing shall offend them.  The result of choosing the Royal Law Of Love is great peace for the believer while the life of Jesus in you deals with the stumbling block.

Let's put it another way:  You're going to have a lot of opportunities, probably every week, to not be offended.  But it's up to you.  - You don't have to get offended, if you don't want to.  The Apostle Paul says in 1 Corinthians 3:3 NLT that when you are jealous or quarrel with one another, you are still controlled by your sin nature living out side your Rights and Privileges as a believer.  To walk in the fullness of the God kind of love,  you've got to receive it by revelation from the Word of God in your heart.  If you deal with the heart issues that cause you to be offended you will rise above offence and allow the greater one to dwell within in you; which is Christ JesusBecause greater is He that is in you, than he is in the world.

So declare with me right now:  Heart of mine, hear what I speak to you in the name of Jesus.  I make the choice to walk in love and  let the Lord love others through me.  I surrender to the law of love - and nothing  will offend me, because the peace of God establishes my heart.  I trust in the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me.  His life is now mine, and I walk in His anointing.  Just remember, God's anointing and being offended cannot walk together.

Until next week,

2 Peter 1:2   May God’s grace and peace be multiplied
to you through the knowledge of Jesus Christ.
