Hello Everyone,

    One of the many questions a new believer often faces is just what the Apostle James means in James 1:22  But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.   In  today's Power Moment  we'll look at the answer to that question.  Being A Doer Of The Word. 

    One of the things Being A Doer Of The Word does NOT mean is working harder to keep God's commands - now that you've become a believer.  When you do that, you are deceiving yourself, because it keeps you in bondage to rules and regulations you can never keep.

    In Romans 13:8-10 Paul, the apostle, discusses the "thou shalt nots" we've tried to obey all our lives (don't commit adultery, don't kill, don't steal, don't bear false witness, don't covet.)  He then goes on to make an amazing statement.  He says Love worketh no ill to his neighbor: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.  Another way of saying that is, If you love the people around you with the love of God, you will never have to worry about whether or not you are obeying the "thou shalt nots."  That seems almost too easy to be true.  But it IS true!

     In Hebrews 10:20 it tells us that Jesus has opened a new and living way  into God's presence.  He is that living way.  Now, when we are having difficulties, we are to run TO Him, not FROM Him.  He will help us deal with the difficulties through the Word.  The only condition is that we walk in love. So make this declaration with me right now.

    Heart, heart, hear the word of the Lord. the Bible says the love of God has been shed abroad in me by the Holy Ghost. - I will be fruitful and multiply in that love. -  Everything I see, hear or do, I will judge in the light of God's love. - I walk in the fullness of that love.  In Jesus' name.

Keep Philippians 2:5 right at the forefront of your thinking this week.   Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:  And remember, dear friends, we're standing with you and believing God for His very best in every area of your life - and that includes your complete prosperity.
